Welcome to our website

Our Aims

We aim to provide an environment within which children can develop and grow at their own pace. We believe in child centred education which allows each child to discover their self esteem, confidence and independence. These are fundamental principles of the Montessori philosophy which has proved to be a very successful teaching method for over one hundred years.

Our Approach

In this atmosphere we offer a holistic and stimulating education which incorporates the Montessori curriculum and the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. First hand experience underpins all aspects of the nursery curriculum and leads to quality learning. The nursery encompasses the different needs and developmental rates of all pupils, we build on children's own experience, valuing where they come from. The children become part of the school community developing social skills and learning how to interact with a group. The proprietor, who works in the school is a qualified and experienced primary teacher. The staff are qualified and experienced primary and montessori teachers and nursery nurses. We also have a dance teacher. The school is registered with OFSTED for children between the ages of 2 years and 5.

Session Times

We are a term time only nursery. Daily sessions run from 8.35am to 11.50am and 12.30-3.00pm. Lunch is from 11.50am-12.30pm. Children can come for one or both sessions. Children who stay all day bring a packed lunch. Breakfast club is available from 8.00am. We have been inspected by OFSTED and accept the Nursery Education Grant from the age of 3, please contact us for details of our fee structure. Children in receipt of funding must attend for a minimum of 5 sessions.

Registration

We welcome applications to the school and ask that all applicants complete a registration form and return it to the school along with the registration fee. Priority places are given to siblings, places are then allocated by the order in which applications are received. Children must be 2 years old and potty trained. Our main intake is now in September in line with the primary school intakes. We will operate a waiting list for places throughout the year.
