We aim to provide an environment within which children can develop and grow at their own pace. We believe in child centred education which allows each child to discover their self esteem, confidence and independence. These are fundamental principles of the Montessori philosophy which has proved to be a very successful teaching method for over one hundred years.
In this atmosphere we offer a holistic and stimulating education which incorporates the Montessori curriculum and the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. First hand experience underpins all aspects of the nursery curriculum and leads to quality learning. The nursery encompasses the different needs and developmental rates of all pupils, we build on children's own experience, valuing where they come from. The children become part of the school community developing social skills and learning how to interact with a group. The proprietor, who works in the school is a qualified and experienced primary teacher. The staff are qualified and experienced primary and montessori teachers and nursery nurses. We also have a dance teacher. The school is registered with OFSTED for children between the ages of 2 years and 5.
We are a term time only nursery. Daily sessions run from 8.35am to 11.50am and 12.30-3.00pm. Lunch is from 11.50am-12.30pm. Children can come for one or both sessions. Priority places are given to siblings, places are then allocated by the order in which applications are received. Children must be 2 years old by the September of the academic year for which they apply. Our main intake is in September in line with the primary school intakes. We will operate a waiting list for places should they become available throughout the year.
